HE BINDS THE BROKEN HEART

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

This original anthropomorphic giraffe ink and watercolor illustration / painting is painted on a wood panel that is 18"x24". The nurse is wearing a "Madame Pomfrey" style nurse outfit and she is waiting to nurse you back to health. It's so easy to have a broken heart. Such hard work to sew it back together. Everyone knows that the gentle nurturing giraffe makes the best nurse for such skilled work - the binding back together of a heart torn asunder.

Thank you to David Bean for the amazing pictures.

STRONG BEAR

He has caught the eye of many a suitor but this Himalayan Black Bear hasn't found his true love yet. He likes to play the field and travel, which is why he joined the circus. That and to stay in shape. This beautiful bear on a is painted on a solid pine wood panel with watercolor paint and then inked to life. He is an original one of a kind piece of art (and character), not  print or silkscreen. The panel is 18 inches tall and 8 inches wide

DEER FRIDA

Frida Khalo is one of my muses. She painted herself once as a wounded deer. I wanted to make her a beautiful one.

MR. CARSON THE OWL

Downton Abbey inspired, Mr. Carson the Owl. From my on going Downton Animalia series. I painted this owl illustration in watercolor on wood. I then finished it with some ink work. The panel measures two feet tall by one foot wide.

SEA GIRAFFE

This sea giraffe skeleton was painted with acrylic on a pine wood panel in the dia de los muertos style.

KING DAVID THE LAMB

This painting of King David the Lamb is part of my Bible Bunny series,  a reverently irreverent celebration of the darker side of Bible stories. The Bible Bunny show was also a solo exhibit in the gallery at Undergrounds Coffehaus in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  Here King David is portrayed as the sheep he cared for before he became the King of Israel. In Jewish lore David was the inventor of the lyre or small harp. The playing by his hand was said to be so sweet that it chased away evil and soothed the mentally ill. He is painted on a solid pine wood panel with watercolor and inked to life with the pen. This illustration is 14" X 11".
